Wrapping up of FRACTIONS

Dear students,

We have come to the end of the topic of fractions. Some key notes to remember:

1. Fractions are parts out of a whole.

2. When we compare fractions, we find out if they are greater, smaller or equivalent.

3. To find equivalent fractions of a given fraction, we multiply/divide the SAME number to BOTH the numerator and denominator.

4. When we add and subtract fractions, we only deal with the numerator. We do not add and subtract the denominators.

5. When comparing, adding or subtracting fractions with DIFFERENT denominators, we first need to look at the denominator, then change both denominators to the same common whole number either using the LOWEST MULTIPLE METHOD or by multiplying both denominators together.

Remember these key rules :) Any questions, do look for me.

Sincerely,
Mr Nelson Ong.
